- CUSTOMER REQUESTS – CHECK AND ADVISE, DIFFERENTIALS, AND KEY FOB NOT UNLOCKING VEHICLE
- FOUND:CUSTOMER COMPLAINT: The customer reports that the alarm remote control is not functioning and mentions a noise coming from underneath the vehicle, suspecting a differential issue. DIAGNOSTIC FINDINGS: REMOTE ACCESS SYSTEM: The remote control was confirmed to be non-operational. Upon physical inspection, it was determined that the internal circuit board has permanent damage. The vehicle's receiver system was tested with a shop master remote and is functioning correctly. Action: Replace and program a new remote control. ENGINE NOISE (EXHAUST MANIFOLDS): Broken bolts were identified on the exhaust manifolds on both sides of the engine. This causes an exhaust leak that generates a rhythmic ticking noise, which is often mistaken for valve train noise. Action: Extract the broken bolts and reinstall manifolds with new gaskets. DRIVETRAIN NOISE (REAR DIFFERENTIAL): A damaged internal rear differential bearing was detected. The noise from this bearing is transmitted and amplified through the driveshaft, causing the sound to be perceived with greater intensity throughout the vehicle. Action: Rebuild the differential (replace bearings) or replace the entire unit depending on the condition of the internal gears.
