FOUND: UNABLE TO VERIFY CONCERN, VEHICLE DID NOT START WHEN VEHICLE ARRIVED. REPLACED TIMING CHAINS, GUIDES, AND ALL APPLICABLE GASKETS, DID NOT VERIFY PREVIOUS SHOP'S DIAGNOSIS. WHEN CHECKING FOR BASE TIMING FOUND TIMING CHAIN WAS SLIGHTLY OFF INDICATING POSSIBLE STRETCH OR JUMP. AFTER REPAIR WAS COMPLETED VEHICLE WOULD STILL NOT START AND VALVTRONIC LIMIT POSITION NOT FOUND CODE WAS STORED IN DME, ATTEMPTED TO CLEAR FAULT BUT FAULT WOULD NOT CLEAR, ATTEMPTED TO LEARN VALVETRONIC LIMITS BUT FUNCTION WOULD FAIL. REMOVED VALVE COVER AND INSPECTED ECCENTRIC SHAFT FOR PROPER MOVEMENT AND FOUND MOVEMENT WAS OK. PERFORMED LEAK DOWN TEST AND INSPECTED TIMING ONCE MORE AND FOUND ALL TO BE OK. ECCENTRIC SHAFT ACTUATOR HAD FAILED. REPLACED ACTUATOR WITH CUSTOMER APPROVAL AND PERFORMED VALVETRONIC LIMIT POSITION LEARN AND LEARN WAS SUCCESSFUL. AFTER LEARN VEHICLE STILL HAD A MISFIRE AFTER SOME LIGHT DIAGNOSIS FOUND IGNITION COIL 4 HAD FAILED. – REPLACED IGNITION COIL AND TEST DROVE VEHICLE, FOUND VEHICLE HAD MISFIRES IN CYL'S 1,2, AND 3 UNDER MEDIUM TO HEAVY LOAD, AFTER FURTHER DIAGNOSIS FOUND FUEL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR HAD FAILED AND WAS OVER REPORTING FUEL PRESSURE AND PCM WAS COMPENSATING AND TAKING FUEL AWAY CAUSING MISFIRES. REPLACED FUEL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR AND VEHICLE NOW OPERATES NORMALLY.

FOUND:Concern verified found P2a01 02 sensor circuit range/performance b1 s2 P2a04 02snesor circuit range /performance b2 s2 suspect from bad o2 sensor, proceed to test the sensors, 02 sensor were pulled and tested over the bench, passes resistance test in the heater element and frequency test passes. however found a failure in the zircon element from the o2 sensor located at Bank 2 sensor 2. when the car its cold the readings are normal, but after test drive found the sensor readings very close to 0V (confirn reading of the o2 sensor doing a enrichment test and the o2 sensor react to the change in the air fuel mix) found worn out o2 sensor. because the o2 sensor are made from the same components, material and installed at the same time from factory we suggest remove and replace both o2 sensors. at the moment of the test only 1 o2 sensor was confirmed bad.

FOUND: Connected a scan tool and found code P2096 – Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean (Bank 1). Performed a road test while monitoring live scan tool data and observed the oxygen sensor (B1-S2) parameter was below specifications and did not respond to changes in air fuel ratio. Inspected the oxygen sensor (B1-S2) wiring harness and detected no obvious faults. Performed a propane enrichment test at idle, monitored the oxygen sensor (B1-S2) signal parameter on the scan tool and found the sensor signal parameter did not respond to the rich fuel mixture condition. These test results verified the oxygen sensor (B1-S2) was faulty. Suggest R&R O2 sensor B1S2 while test drive found minor misfires under no load and proceed to pull the spark plugs in the passenger side, found 2 of the spark plugs hand tightened. spark plugs electrode looks OK but are being expose to the compression from the engine, same problem with the 2 coils packs are in bad shape due the compression leak(oil a the junction of the coil pack). also the combustion chambers(1,3,5) was bore scope and found in normal conditions. Suggest R&R 6 spark plugs and 6 coil packs. Car cooling system was pressure tested found small leaks from loosen hose clamps. clamps where adjusted and the leak went away.
